{"id":726,"date":"2011-06-21T23:13:20","date_gmt":"2011-06-21T13:13:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mappingonlinepublics.net\/dev\/2011\/06\/21\/mapping-online-publics-a-progress-report\/"},"modified":"2012-04-10T13:59:47","modified_gmt":"2012-04-10T03:59:47","slug":"mapping-online-publics-a-progress-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mappingonlinepublics.net\/dev\/2011\/06\/21\/mapping-online-publics-a-progress-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Mapping Online Publics: A Progress Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Melbourne.<\/strong>     <br \/>I spoke today at the <a href=\"http:\/\/liquidlearning.com.au\/llg08\/June\/the-2nd-annual-national-digital-media-officers-forum-2011.html\">National Public Service Digital Media Officers&#8217; Forum<\/a> (now that&#8217;s a mouthful&#8230;) here in Melbourne, where I had been invited to present our Mapping Online Publics project &#8211; to a group of state- and federal-level public servants who are charged, in their various roles, with driving their diverse departments&#8217; and organisations&#8217; social media and Government 2.0 strategies. <\/p>\n<p>A good opportunity to have some very interesting discussions and make some great new connections (as well as renew a few old ones) &#8211; and my talk ended up being something of a progress update on our work in the project to date, with a particular focus, of course, on the <em>Twitter<\/em> research we&#8217;ve been doing, and using the Queensland floods experience as a concrete example (since @QPSMedia&#8217;s performance during the floods is also a major success story for the Queensland Police Service as a public service).
